Sam had really pulled through for him and Johnny knew he owed the guy big time. He was likely to have a lot of questions, too. But from the moment he got off the phone with him, he and Marie had to keep moving- never slow down, barely stop. He knew Danica would be on his ass now, even if he was doing his best to suppress that tracker, it would only do so much. Johnny was aware that they were watching him like a hawk, so the moment his device came back online, ACIS agents were sent.
They had to get out of here now.
Acquiring a different car for them, he left Marie in it as he ran into the bank, even as banged up as he was. Naturally, he got a strange look from the clerk, but with a scowl and knowing he wasn't going to see this person again, he didn't try to play nice. He got the money Sam left for him and made his way out.
However, it would be too late to stop the two men from approaching the vehicle. They were dressed to the nines- one of them even wearing sunglasses because, apparently, that spelled "secret agent" or something. Johnny never understood it, even if he rather liked the feeling of a good suit. One of them rapped gently on the window where Marie sat, bending at the waist so that he could peer in. "I'll need you to step out of the car, Miss Walsh," Hot Shot Sunglasses said politely.
None of it registered with Johnny until he got close enough, remembering that was their new mode of transportation for the day, and the agent casually swept his jacket aside to reveal the weapon at his side to encourage her further. The other man had gone to the driver's side, probably realizing he wasn't in there, but he glanced up once he heard the resounding curse that fled Cordello's lips.
He should have known better, as he was prepared to approach the car, another had come up behind him and clocked him upside the head. It wasn't enough to knock him out cold but enough to cause him to stumble and see stars. He felt hands grabbing for him tightly as Marie was being forced from the car if she didn't willingly oblige.
Then he heard it. That eery sound of sharp heels against the pavement, moving at a slow, sauntering pace.
"Hello, Miss Walsh," Danica spoke, a smile slowly curling those devil-red lips. Dressed in her immaculate skirt suit as always, he might have considered the woman beautiful were it not for those calculating, feline-shaped eyes. Johnny always felt like they saw through him, and not in a hot see-through-your-clothes kind of way either. It was like she could see your soul and wrench it straight out of your body. And whenever she smiled, it usually meant that the situation was about to get worse.
And the fact that she was actually here was also a big indicator.
Danica gave Marie a quick once over, that grin still present. "It's wonderful to finally meet you." Then, she looked to Johnny and the annoyance was very clear on her face.
His guard released him but kept his gun trained on Johnny's head while Danica stepped up beside him. He nearly shuddered as her long fingers grasped his arm in a rather affectionate manner, before drawing him closer to the car as though he were fragile. Her smile was now unnerving him.
Eventually, slow steps circled her around him, fingertips trailing along his back, over his shoulder before she was standing right in front of him again. A single digit tapped hard on his chest just once, in the area of that tracker. He wouldn't outright admit it, but his blood suddenly ran cold.
When the woman spoke again, it wasn't to Johnny even if she was looking at him to start, "And I see Agent Cordello has been taking great care of you." Danica rolled her eyes and turned around apologetically to Marie. "Oh right, it was Bonham this time around, yes?"
