'If I live, I want you to know you're terrifying.' That had made Zara pause for a brief moment, those red-painted lips curling just slightly into a smirk before she spoke, "Good." She was okay if he was somehow frightened of her, or simply found her terrifying. It spurred her on to fire off a couple more shots, causing the black SUV to swerve, narrowly missing a poor vendor on the sidewalk.
Mick was suddenly rambling on again, trying to keep them alive as the chase continued through the narrow, Italian streets. Although she acted like she was taking it well, in reality, Zara was freaking out inside. Every swerve, every turn Mick took, she felt her heart leap into her throat and she struggled to keep a hold on her nerves. Especially when she heard some of the others panicking over something.
Whoever this Joanna was, Zee was praying she showed up very soon.
And then, as if she were a guardian angel, the former spy was informing them of her presence. She, too, caught sight of what the woman was doing, so the grifter immediately drew herself back into the car fully just as Mick hit the gas. Buckling her seatbelt immediately, the explosion sounded from somewhere behind, and a low cackle erupted from her throat. ”Nice job, Joanna,” she said, recalling the woman’s name even through the chaos. No, Zara didn’t know her, but she certainly liked her already.
A gasp fled her lips as Mick took a hard right. ”Alright, sure,” she found herself stammering. ”So, uh...what’re you plan on doing about the authorities?” Because they certainly heard about this whole ordeal.
