PERSONALITY: Danny has certainly sobered up in his later years, and has become a voice of reason for his team which is why he took to motivational speaking so well. At times, it seems like he keeps to himself if only because he's waiting for the moment where he loses control again. He fears that happening once more, so he's learned to curb a lot of his emotions as much as possible.
FACTS:
- Born into a military family, his father was an army veteran, so they were always on the move, never settling down in one place for too long. Danny wasn't able to keep friends, and his younger brother, Josh, became his constant companion. They're still close even now, having served alongside each other.
- Just like his father, Danny joined the army as soon as he could instead of going to college. He felt like he didn't have much of a choice and wasn't capable of accomplishing much else. But soldiering he was good at, and it got him recognized enough to be recruited into the Army Delta Forces despite his mental struggles.
- From early on, he was dealing with PTSD. Sometimes, just working kept him occupied enough that it was hardly a problem...but when he remained still for too long, he was plagued with the horrific memories from his time in the army.
- Through the Delta Forces, he met Jeff, Dominic, and Iago, who were his team alongside him and Josh. They kept tabs with each other even after retirement.
- When he finally left the military, Danny began to go off the deep end. He couldn't control his thoughts or his actions, always getting fired up or easily offended. It was hard to find a job- practically left with nothing even after serving his country for all of those years.
- The depression ate away at him, worsening when his fiancée told him she was leaving him for another. Danny snapped, even attacked the guy, and that unfortunately wasn't the first incident where an innocent got in his way. He was forced to serve time, let out after a few months if he agreed to go to meetings and give speeches to soldiers. That was how he fell into motivational speaking, and found that he enjoyed it and had a purpose, even if it happened to be dull every now and then.
- When Dominic came to him with a job (steal a drug lord's money), Danny agreed and found himself alongside his old team in Colombia. They succeeded, and Dom killed Lorenzo before they fled into the jungle and across the Andes Mountains. There was a lot of trouble along the way, and they lost Jeff in the process, as well as most of the money. They fled and have been staying low, out of sight.
- Often found himself in a boxing ring because it helped him let out his pent up aggressions. He always said it was better than drinking.
- Likes to keep count of random things, such as how many speeches he has given, and the amount of confirmed kills during his time in the military. It helps him stay grounded.
