FULL NAME: Iago Riviera
NICKNAME(s): "Dad" Go-go,
CALL SIGN: Tango
BIRTH DATE: June 8th
AGE: Thirty-six
HEIGHT: 5 '11
WEIGHT: 180 lbs.
EYE COLOR: Brown
HAIR COLOR: Brown
HOMETOWN: San Antonio, Texas
MARITAL STATUS: Single
OCCUPATION: Mercenary/ Former Army Delta Force Helicopter Pilot
MARKINGS: Scar on his shoulder from a bullet graze, shrapnel wound on his left leg
SPECIALTIES: Aerial maneuvers, Helicopter pilot, Air drops and pick ups; Rifles and light weaponry; excellent marksmanship; hand-to-hand combat; counter-terrorism, special reconnaissance
PERSONALITY: Known as the "dad" of the group, Iago is the most sensible one out of his unit. He's incredibly smart, though likes to hide it or blow it off. He works well under pressure and is the voice of reason, easily falling into the leadership role when it's necessary, otherwise he tends to go along with everyone else, because it'll make his friends happy even if he says its a bad idea. A bit of a pushover with those he's close too, they tend to talk him into things despite his original opinion on the subject. He's very cautious and reluctant to go along with things as he always thinks worse case scenario and what that cost could mean. He's always the last to make a decision/agree to anything as he wants to think about his options and the possible outcomes.
Usually a bit serious, Iago can also be sarcastic and jokes when it's okay to joke. He takes his job very seriously, and gets angry when people are using their brains. He manages to keep his cool for the most part, but the stress does get to him. He likes to cook and loves to dance while doing so.
FACTS:
- Iago lived a relatively normal childhood. His parents were immigrants from south america, and they were a lower income family.
- Iago had to work hard to help his parents make it.
- At 18 he enlisted in the military, and became an army pilot. Loving to fly, he felt like he had a purpose. It was in the service he met his "Hermanos" in his Delta Force unit, and has considered them his brothers ever since.
- After he retired, he fell into drugs to help cope with the missions they had to do. Often having night terrors about what he'd seen, he suffers from some PTSD, and his copying mechanisms led to a darker path.
- He couch hopped for a while, until one day at a party he called Dominic Garcia in tears, high out of his mind on cocaine and bawled his eyes out about the things they did before he OD'd.
- He woke up in the hospital with both Dominic and Danny Miller standing over him, and practically demanding he get his shit together.
- Danny helped him get some help, going into a rehab facility for several months to get clean. The months following were hard on Iago. Working in construction he finally got a job that he could save up for and get his own place.
- When Dom approached him and the rest of the boys about a job, he was reluctant at first. Having a gut feeling that things weren't going to go as planned.
- Iago went along anyways and it has taken every nerve in his body to not tell Dom to his face: "I told you so."
- With the loss of Jeff, Iago is feeling that itch again, and is growing antsy. Especially while being in an area where he can get an old fix real easily. He's keeping his head clear by focusing on what his and the boy's next steps are.
